Russia. 1905. A small town. Workers with wives and children strike near the governor’s house. A platoon of soldiers stand in front of them. Strain situation. The governor walks out on a balcony to talk to the crowd, reaches out a handkerchief. Soldiers are so nervous that take a rash swing of the handkerchief as a command to bring down fire. As a result, 47 people are shot dead. The governor, being a true patriot, can’t fight his own people. And, having become, by or against his will, the one to blame for the Russian people deaths, he is waiting for an imminent reckoning, which he is even trying to find himself.
