The series begins in 1945 and spans to the present day, chronicling the story of three generations of the Stroev family. Through their lives, the history of an entire nation unfolds. In a historic town near Moscow, the Stroevs' home is known to all. Since pre-revolutionary times, it has been the residence of doctors, and anyone coming here with an ailment knew they would always find help.
