Marta and Andrey met on a business trip, fell in love, and are planning a wedding in their hometown. Unexpectedly, Marta's father and Andrey's mother object. The reason for this hostility between the two families lies in the past: 30 years ago, Nikolay and Olga were married and lost their child. Meanwhile, Marta and Andrey's true happiness is being actively thwarted by Igor, the groom set up by Marta's father, and Rita, who has fallen in love with someone else's boyfriend. On the day of the couple's secret wedding, Andrey is taken away from the registry office by the police, and Marta is certain it's her father's doing. Igor forces Andrey to choose: if Andrey doesn't give up Marta, he'll go to jail. Rita, however, arranges for Andrey to wake up in the same bed with her at the Volskiys house. Marta witnesses this and ends up in the hospital: she only recently learned she was expecting a child. Under pressure from her entire family, Marta marries Igor. Andrey is forced to accept his beloved's choice. But this leads to a crime: to save her, Andrey will be forced to kidnap his newborn son.
